Corva and Phoenix Global Resources Sign Agreement to Integrate Artificial Intelligence into Unconventional Drilling

The agreement with H&P and Corva enables the connection between data analytics platforms and automated drilling control, incorporating predictive models to improve operational accuracy, reduce drilling time, and strengthen consistency in decision-making.

Buenos Aires, April 6, 2026Phoenix Global Resources announced the signing of a strategic agreement with Helmerich & Payne (H&P) and Corva to implement a technological integration that will combine predictive analytics capabilities with automated drilling systems in its unconventional operations.

The agreement was signed in Tulsa, United States, with the participation of Pablo Bizzotto, CEO of Phoenix Global Resources; Dharmesh Mehta, Executive Chairman of Corva; and Trey Adams, President & CEO of H&P.

On the matter, Bizzotto stated: “We are proud to be one of the first companies in Argentina to incorporate artificial intelligence into our drilling operations in Vaca Muerta. This technology will allow us to optimize operations, timelines, and costs, while improving the safety of our workforce. We are committed to innovation and operational excellence, and we believe AI is a key step toward achieving our production and sustainable growth objectives.”

Dharmesh Mehta, Executive Chairman of Corva, said: “This collaboration marks a shift from data-informed decisions to data-driven execution. By integrating predictive models directly with automated drilling systems, we’re enabling real-time optimization at the rig—reducing variability and delivering consistent, repeatable performance. For operators like Phoenix, this is how AI translates into measurable drilling outcomes at scale."

The integration connects Corva’s Predictive Drilling solution with H&P’s Autodriller platform on Rig 234, currently operating in Phoenix’s unconventional hub. This combination enables real-time data analysis to be incorporated into the automated drilling control system, improving operational visibility and decision quality at the wellsite.

The system integrates key drilling variables—such as weight on bit, RPM, differential pressure, and rate of penetration (ROP)—and generates parameter recommendations using artificial intelligence based on the analysis of historical data from nearby wells. These recommendations are evaluated in the field by the company man and the driller, strengthening the decision-making process.

This implementation marks the first time this technological integration has been enabled on an H&P platform globally and represents a milestone in the application of advanced digital solutions in drilling operations in Argentina.

The technology has already been tested with positive results and will begin continuous deployment on the next pad to be drilled by Phoenix at its flagship asset, Mata Mora Norte.

With this agreement, Phoenix reaffirms its commitment to incorporating technological innovation to optimize operations, improve efficiency, and continue strengthening its position in the development of Vaca Muerta.
